Hello Everyone :)
Today, I want to talk to you about the birthstone of January – which is Garnet.
Garnet is called that because of its shape and color – which resemble the seeds of the pomegranate.
Garnet is found the world over, and in a variety of colors. The most commonly known is
the Red Garnet.
Legends and folklore place Garnet as the most ancient of talismans.
Garnets were used as early as the Bronze age – Garnet jewelry were found in ancient graves in Czechoslovakia, in Egypt – where they symbolized life, Sumeria, and in Sweden...
They were treasured in ancient Greek and Roman civilizations.
The Talmud saus that the only light on Noah's arc was provided by a large Garnet.
In Europe of the middle ages, Garnet was used to enhance truth and faith. It also served as a talisman in the Crusades – for both Christians and Muslims – as a warrior stone.
In Native American Indians - the Aztec, the Mayas – used Garnets in their ornaments.
They were valued by elderlies in African tribes.
And some Asiatic tribes launched Garnets for their sling bows, and later as bullets, believing the blood colored stones would inflict a more deadly wound..
Now let's talk about Garnets meaning and uses:
Garnet is considered a lucky stone for love and success.
Emotionally, it provides a protective and calming influence.
It is thought to heal melancholy and depression, and bring courage and hope.
It fortifies and activates. Under its influence, crisis is turned into challenge.
It helps you let go of behavior patterns that are no longer serving you, obsolete ideas, inhibitions and taboos.
It opens up the heart and boosts self confidence.
Garnet balances energy, bringing serenity or passion, as appropriate.
It stimulates desires, uplifts your attitude, and prevents fears of insecurity.
Garnet increases positivity and popularity, encourages success in business, and inspire love and devotion.
Garnet is also known as the commitment stone – commitment to purpose, goals, to others and yourself.
Garnet is the birthstone of Aquarius birth sign.
